What is telehealth?

Telehealth can be defined as treatment from a distance utilizing electronic means including video cam, telephone and chat messaging.

Is everyone eligible for online counseling services?

Your therapist and you will determine if online counseling is the best method of treatment for your presenting concerns. In some cases, your therapist may refer you for traditional in-office services to ensure the best possible care according to unique circumstances.

Radiant SouLutions Telehealth Sessions do not offer crisis counseling or emergency services. If you are experiencing an emergency or having thoughts of self-harm, call the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, a free, confidential 24-hour hotline, at 988, 1-800-273-8255 or www.988lifeline.org. If your issue is a medical or other emergency, call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room.

Do you accept insurance or offer sliding rate scales?

This site offers professional therapeutic services delivered by a licensed and experienced therapist at a rate that is economical. Fees are self-pay. Insurance is not accepted. Rates are competitively priced and there is no sliding fee scale. Please contact therapist by email or phone regarding sessions rates for individuals, couples, and families. How do I sign up for services?

Potential clients have the opportunity to complete the contact information or schedule/request appointments directly on this site following the link for scheduling on my HIPPA compliant telehealth platform. The most efficient option is to follow the link on this site to the confidential telehealth site. The therapist will verify all appointments to ensure there are no scheduling conflicts.

How do live video sessions work?

You can schedule a video session with your counselor where you see each other and talk with each other in a virtual face-to-face setting. To speak with your counselor via video, you will need to schedule a time with your counselor and log in to your counseling room at the scheduled time.  You will receive a link from the therapist prior to your scheduled session. You will then be prompted to start the video session with instructions.  After you confirm, you will immediately begin video chatting with your counselor.

How do telephone sessions work?

Your therapist will contact you by phone with the telephone number you provide.

Are there any particular requirements?

Like any professional office, you will be required to complete a basic intake form, which will include your consent, and confidentiality agreements.

You will be assisted by an experienced, licensed therapist: Ashanti Shakir, LMFT a Licensed Marriage, Family therapist.

How long does each therapy session take?

Typically, each session will run for 45-50 minutes per session. There are 30 minute sessions offered by request.

What do I need to get started?

All you’ll need to get started with online teletherapy is a computer or mobile device, high-speed Internet connection, web camera, and microphone.

What is your cancellation policy?

Radiant SouLutions requires a 24-hour-notice if unable to attend your scheduled appointment to avoid being charged. Clients will be charged the full session fee for all missed appointments and/or no shows less than 24 hours.
